OPYBS & COVID-19
Learn more about our response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
OPYBS would like to thank our membership for your patience as we navigate bringing back youth baseball and softball to Oak Park during these unprecedented times. For the 2021 season OPYBS plans to offer a spring program for all age divisions. OPYBS has developed return to play health and safety protocols consistent with Illinois phase 4 requirements. Protocols will include rule changes, social distancing, and limits on numbers of participants at games. Compliance will be required by all players, coaches and parents. The plan can be accessed by clicking here.
OPYBS will continue to monitor the local health conditions related to COVID, and if the situation worsens either in Illinois or locally, the OPYBS board may move to suspend activities at any time. Additionally, any positive COVID cases among players or coaches may result in suspension of play for that team or age division.
COVID-19 Disclaimer
Please be aware that participation and attendance at OPYBS events includes possible exposure to and illness from infectious diseases including but not limited to MRSA, influenza, and COVID-19. OPYBS has developed a set of Safety Guidelines for players, volunteers and spectators that may reduce this risk, but the risk of serious illness and death still exists. Please note that participation and attendance at OPYBS events is voluntary and at your own risk.
Also note that if any player, coach, umpire or volunteer, or anyone who has close contact with these individuals tests positive for Covid-19, they must immediately inform the OPYBS Board at safety@opybs.org so that proper precautions can be taken for other teams/players/officials.
